Macy’s Department Stores and Johnson Publishing Company have partnered to present a beauty, fashion and lifestyle tribute to the life of legendary fashion icon, Eunice Johnson. Ebony, Fashion Fair Cosmetics & Macy’s are celebrating Eunice Johnson in and exhibit titled For The Love of Color. Macy’s will showcase some of the haute couture designs from Mrs. Johnson’s own collection that were featured in the Ebony Fashion Fair shows, the world’s largest traveling fashion show. The month-long exhibit will feature designs by some of the World’s most renowned and critically-acclaimed designers, including Lanvin, Yves Saint Laurent, Vivienne Westwood, Carolina Herrera, Stephen Burrows and B. Michael to name a few.

The exhibit debuted at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City last night and I was so fortunate to attend the opening reception.  It was a great event surrounded by fabulous fashionable people. The hors d’oeuvres were plentiful and the drinks were flowing.

Ciroc was a drink sponsor.

The Kobe Beef burgers were pretty good.

Chicken Tacos (I just love the presentation)

A dessert made out of Nutella

I wore my Tucker for Target boucle dress.

Model Pat Cleveland was there pointing to old issues of Ebony were she was on the cover.  That’s her in the black dress above right.

Lisa Price of Carol’s Daughter was there also.  Have you guys tried any of her products?  What are your favorites?

June Ambrose in Lanvin for H&M.  I got to ke-ke with her about H&M.  She was so nice.  She is like her twitter personality.

Me and June Ambrose.  Her yellow clutch was serious.

Marc. H. Morial, former mayor of New Orleans and currently the President and CEO of The National Urban League.

I was determined to come meet my she-ro when I saw that Desiree Rogers was hosting the event. She is so beautiful.  And she looked stunning in her Louis Vuitton dress. I wish I had a full length shot of it.

Amy DuBois Barnett, the editor-in-chief of Ebony magazine and author of  Get Yours! How to Have Everything You Ever Dreamed of and More.  My girlfriend, Frantzie,  loves this book and quotes it all the time.

Me and the legendary MUA Sam Fine.  He complimented me on my make-up.  I think I died 1000 deaths.  He’s really not short.  He stooped down to my height for the picture.  Sam looked very dapper that night.

The Fashion Fair folks gave complimentary lip make-overs at the event.  I joked with Pilar my MUA that I haven’t used Fashion Fair since high school.  I remember when the lipsticks came in pink containers.  Now they are in sophisticated black containers.  The lipsticks still have their wonderful scents.

Some of the fashion’s that will be featured at the exhibit.

Macys and EBONY celebrate Black History Month will run from January 27th thru February 1st at Macy’s Herald Square, and will then tour 10 Macy’s locations across the country throughout the month of February.
