I have been in NYC for almost 10 years.  Although I enjoy coming home, I don’t really have that many friends in Detroit any more.  The majority of my friends have moved out of Michigan. So when I do come home, I don’t hang out like I do in New York.

Saturday night I went out with two of my good friends from college.  We went to this nice Cuban restaurant downtown Detroit called Vincente’s.  The food was delicious and they give you a lot of it.  My friend, Melissa, calls it her hidden gem.

They had Salsa lesson’s going on too.  I love to dance, even though I’m not very good at it.  We went out on the dance floor and the dance instructor grabbed me to demonstrate.  He said that he finally found a dance partner shorter than him.  Years of cheerleading has made me a quick study when it comes to learning routines.  I picked it up right away.  At least the moves I picked up, now if I could only throw in some rhythm.

Later on this guy came to our table and wanted to dance.  My friends jokingly told them I was a good dancer.  Which is far from the truth. I tried to get out of it.  I told him I couldn’t dance at all, but he insisted.  Three minutes in I think he realized I was telling the truth.  He thanked me for the dance and sent me on my way.  I tried to tell him!
