It’s a 11:15pm and I sit here in bed asking myself what just happened. How did they find George Zimmerman not guilty? It just isn’t right. Then I remember … it’s Florida. It’s always Florida! Remember the ‘hanging chads’? And this is the same place that let a mother who killed her baby walk free. I’m not surprised at the verdict, but I am disappointed. My heart breaks for Trayvon, his family and all of the little Black boys in America. I’m not the only one who shared concern. Many Black celebs reacted to the verdict…

I cried myself to sleep holding both of my babies. I can’t believe they didn’t even find him guilty of manslaughter. It’s said to say that despite being free men and women, it’s still legal to treat us like slaves.
It’s heartbreaking to say the least. And yes…we are often treated like 2nd class citizens.
