We all know and love judge Jay Manuel from "America’s Next Top Model", but did you know he is now Creative Director of his own clothing line? His new line appropriately titled Attitude is a Sears Canada private label collection. Yes, it’s only available in Canada but he plans to bring the entire line to the US within the next year. Jay is from Canada so that only makes sense that he chose to debut his line there. In addition to women’s apparel, Attitude will include shoes, bags and accessories with sizes ranging from 2 to 18.
Jay Manuel describes his line below:
Fall/Winter 2011 Collection brings together modern interpretations of the sophisticated silhouette from the early 60s with the luxury and textures of the 70s. Designed for the stylish woman on the go, highlights of the collection include flattering shapes such as wide legged trousers, sleek pencil skirts, fashion-forward suiting that transitions from office to evening and seamed dresses for the fashion conscious. Versatility and impeccable tailoring are paramount; the fashionably current collection ranges in size from 0-18. The Fall/Winter 2011 color palette – inspired by Morocco – consists of slate, cognac, peacock, marine, raspberry and black, accented by stylized animal prints.
Here he is talking about his new collection:
The collection is moderately priced, but it’s the Canadian dollar. I have no clue how that compares to the US dollar. Rates change daily. But I pulled a few of my favorite looks from Jay’s line.
Belted Double Breasted Coat
Short Jacket
S/S Dress with Crisscross Detail
S/L Tunic Asymmetrical Draped Top
Denim Flare Pant
Jay debuted his Fall/Winter 2001 collection earlier this year at Toronto’s Fashion Week.
What do you think? I like affordable clothes, but I also want the garment to be well constructed. There is a Windsor, Ontario store 20 minutes away from my parents house in Michigan. I’m due for a visit soon, so I will make a trip to Canada while I’m home. This way I can actually see his line up close. But until then, view the rest of the line at Sears Canada.
