Well….that’s what my psychic told me.
I have always been fascinated by the abilities of psychics. So much so that I have never been to see one for that reason. I have always believed in their capabilities but was afraid that they would tell me something I didn’t want to hear. I even have clairvoyant people in my family. Big Eunice (as we affectionately called her) used to tell fortunes by reading people’s tea leaves. Even the night my great grandmother passed away she came to me in a dream and touched my face. I’m not sure if that qualifies as a psychic but it’s along the same lines. I think we all have intuitive capabilities but we don’t know how to use our power. Déjà vu is a great example of that.
I just happened to talking to my friend Carmen who is really into astrology and metaphysics about how I have always wanted to have a psychic reading. I felt like I needed some sort of direction in my life. Well I was talking to the right person because she suggested we take a field trip out to see her psychic in Harlem. And that’s what we did!
We made our way uptown (well I didn’t have far to go since I live in Harlem) to the psychic medium. Carmen had already warned me that the wait is extremely long because this psychic is very popular. Which is why we decided to go on a Tuesday early afternoon. We figured we would beat the traffic. Nope. That didn’t matter. We still had to wait 2 hours before we were seen. I was a little annoyed but not really because I didn’t want her to rush when it came my turn. I wanted her to take her time reading me.
The place was very cozy. It was filled with candles, healing beads, oils, tonics and other materials for rituals. I took a couple of pictures with my iPhone but I felt like I was disturbing the spiritual guides so I didn’t take that many. When it was my turn for a reading I was led back into a small room with the psychic. She didn’t speak any English so there was another lady in the room to translate. I’m not going to tell you all my business but from the moment I sat down in the seat I was convinced. She told me I was Spanish. Which is true. I don’t deny my Latino heritage but it’s not something I broadcast or talk about. When it comes time to check off that ethnicity box…I always check ‘Black’. But my Spanish heritage comes from my Dad’s side. I thought that was interesting. She talked about my love interests in which she was right on the money. She knew about something that my mother is going through and gave me the outcome. She also told me I was going to marry a younger man and have twins. She knew that I have always wanted twins. What I liked about my reading is that she took her time and allowed for questions. But she told me so much that I was sort of stumped and didn’t have that many. Next time I will come with a list because later on I was kicking myself for not asking about certain things.
She didn’t use a crystal ball to tell my fortune. Instead she used tarot cards. The 1st time she had me cut the tarot card deck she said that she couldn’t see my spiritual guides. Which made me nervous. Where the hell were my guides? She then had me cut the deck again and I guess my guides came through because she began giving me my reading.
I wanted clarity on something that was going on in my life and she told me I was cursed by an old jealous roommate. (That could be anyone…lol) In order to break the curse I had to buy some healing beads, a ribbon and some special tablets. I really felt like what she was telling me wasn’t a scam and bought everything. She gave me instructions to dissolve the tablets in water, wipe my body with the ribbon, beads and water all while saying a prayer she gave me….in the ocean. This ritual had to be done over three days. Now NYC isn’t that close to an ocean. Well one that I wanted to take a trip out to. But it’s almost as if she knew I was going to the ocean. In fact, I was headed to Miami the next day. So I packed my ritual tools with me and took them to Miami.
I did the ritual and said the prayer as told over three days in the ocean. Some of the things that the psychic said would happen have already started to come to fruition. I think it’s too soon to tell if everything will happen as she predicted. But I think everything is open to interpretation. I must say that my first visit to a psychic was better than what I expected. I will be going again. I may do yearly or twice a year visits. I haven’t decided yet.
Have you ever been to see a psychic?

I used to be afraid of psychics. Like you, I was always afraid of hearing something I didn’t want to hear.. like “You’ve got 72 hours to live.”
But as of lately, as part of my spiritual journey, I’ve been studying more astrology & metaphysics. And most of what I read is usually dead on.. I’m at the point where I want to see what a psychic has to say. I’ve studied palm reading and have that down. I just want to see what new information they can help me with!
Can you share the location?! I want in.
Check your Twitter DM! I sent you the address. 🙂
You sacred the beJesus out of me. Stop. It.
Ha! I thought it would be a catchy title.
I’ve never believed in psychics but you have definitely made me go hmmm. I hope you get your twins!
It was a fun experience. She didn’t tell me too many bad things. I will keep my fingers crossed on the twins. 😉
Hello
I just discovered your wonderful blog. I’m really seeking a tarot card reader. I’m really confused about a few things that I am going through. It would be great to get some insight. I previously went to a tarot card reader in Harlem(Dominican woman ). She was great but I lost the address. If it is not a problem, would you kindly email me the address @ brsugarbabe09@yahoo.com
Be well
Hello,
Can you please send me the name and address of the psychic you went to?
Thanks!
