I swear whenever I make it a point not to ignore my blog, I end up neglecting it. I really need to figure out a way to balance my work life and my blog. I really love to blog. But sometimes after a hectic day at work, industry events and working out (yep…we back on that again), I don’t feel like doing anything but going to bed. I really need to hire an intern to help me get my life. No, seriously! They can start with matching up my socks. You know, sometimes just the little things help.
In the spirit of balancing my work life and my blog, I’m going to write more about the cool things that happen at the gig. Well, just so happen, Grammy nominated songstress Amel Larrieux stopped by the office yesterday. Do you remember her? She was the founding member of the mid-1990s duo Groove Theory along with Bryce Wilson. I remember everybody loved them some Bryce. He was so fine! Their song ‘Tell Me’ is still a classic. Every time I hear that song it takes me back to a simpler time that didn’t involve bills or boys and I had no worries.
Amel stopped by the office to talk about her latest studio album ‘Ice Cream Everyday’. Which marks her first album in 5 years. The new album doesn’t have a confirmed release date, but you can pre-order it now. If Amel Larrieux’s latest single ‘Afraid’ is any indication on how her new album is going to be, I’m all in. I’m totally digging this song.
I’m going to leave you with a throw back video from 1995 with Groove Theory ‘Tell Me’. This song is so nostalgic.
What were you doing when this song hit the scene?
