Last weekend I took a much needed vacation to the Bahamas. I traveled via the Carnival Cruise Imagination Ship. Although I had fun on my trip, the service and food on Carnival was horrible. I’m a frequent cruiser so I was able to compare it to previous cruise experiences. One night our entire table had to send back their food. The waiter even said that all of the good chefs were let go and that it didn’t benefit the cruise line to have good food because folks would over indulge. I guess I can understand that, but I like to feel satisfied when I eat. I make the best out of any situation and enjoyed my trip!
The day we arrived to the Bahamas we took a tour that included the beach, tourist spots and shopping. Our 1st stop was the beach. The weather was really cold! It was funny to see the Bahamanian people in winter coats and parkas. But it’s winter time for them.
I wore this Gap denim jacket with every outfit on my trip. I bought it with a 40% off coupon. It was the only piece I brought to keep me warm. I’m not anemic, but I’m always cold!
Outfit: Denim Jacket by The Gap, Cecico Dress and Frank & Myrrh Earrings.
(l to r) Sendy, Miesha, myself and Renee
Renee and I. I’ve known Renee since I was in the 10th grade. We met in the audience of a talk show.
Me and Sendy
The driver of our tour let us frolic on the beach for about 90 minutes and came back to pick us up. It was so cold, that I don’t think I could have sat out there any longer. Our driver’s name was Phil and he showed us the touristy spots next.
We went to the Queen’s Staircase which was carved out of solid limestones by slaves in the late 18th century, between 1793 and 1794. It is reported that slaves were forced to cut through rocks with axes and other sharp hand tools.
I’m standing on top of the Queen’s Staircase
We went to Fort Fincastle. The fort was built in 1793 by Lord Dunmore atop Bennet’s Hill overlooking the city.
This was the back of the fort.
This was the front of the fort.
We passed this sign on our tour and I thought it was funny.
We stopped here to eat. I don’t eat seafood so I went next door for chicken. But everyone said they enjoyed their food.
This was our driver Phil. Doesn’t he look like Captain Fuller from 21 Jump Street?
That evening was the captain’s dinner and everyone is supposed to dress in formal wear. I’ve been on many cruises to know that everyone’s definition of formal wear is not the same. I kept it simple with a black BCBG dress, JCrew belt and pink kitten pumps.
MSU represented very well on this cruise!
We were at sea the last day. I love this part of a cruise because you can relax.
I wore a Tucker for Target dress, Gap denim jacket and Frank & Myrrh Earrings on the last day.
I love these earrings so much that I had to take a close-up picture.

I covet your pink pumps!
@Rachael – Thanks! I own them in black too! I like them because they are high enough to make me feel taller, but short enough that I can dance all night!
Great pics! You’re camera is awesome 🙂
