I took a little break from blogging the past couple of days. I know Black Friday is the biggest shopping day of the year, but it is the one day I never shop since I save big all year round. Plus, I can do without the shopper madness and the crowds. I personally enjoy shopping right when the store opens to avoid crowds. I prefer to shop with just me and the overnight team. This way I can concentrate, get in and get out. I know the deals are in abundance during this season, but I will only post the ones that I think will be of value to you. In other news, I went to a taping of the Martha Stewart Show a couple of weeks ago.
Of course I arrived to the taping about 20 minutes late. (I can never get any where on time.) Actually it ended up being perfect timing because I didn’t have to stand in line in the rain. The check in process was quick and simple. I just had to show my ID. I went through security check and was herded into a waiting room. [FYI: Cameras are allowed in the studio.] We didn’t have to wait too long to enter the set.
Martha’s set is beautiful. She has a real kitchen and greenery. The show wasn’t anything different from what you have seen on television. There wasn’t any excitement like you see on Oprah. I did get to see the Martha that Cybil Sheppard portrayed in her biopic. She went off a little bit on her staff because they couldn’t find some information she asked for in a timely fashion. That was funny. Thank god for Joey the warm up guy. He kept the audience entertained during the breaks. Otherwise I would have fallen asleep. Joey gave out prizes to audience members between takes. I was determined to get a prize, but he wasn’t trying to look my way. So I finally started chanting “Joey, Joey, Joey” and the rest of the audience joined me. Joey loved it and gave me a nice Martha Stewart Paint Set.
