I have always heard about the legendary COCKTAILS & COUTURE Beauty and Blogger networking events but I have never been. They are legendary. The beauty event brings together New York City’s top influencers in media to network and relax during New York Fashion Week.
Lianne Farbes – Creator and Host of COCKTAILS & COUTURE
Last night I was invited out to the COCKTAILS & COUTURE Beauty and Blogger networking event hosted by veteran beauty expert, Lianne Farbes of TheMakeupGirl.net at 320 Studios in Midtown Manhattan. The event was also co-hosted by celebrity manicurist TracyLee Percival and beauty pioneer Jennifer Walsh.
The two-part event began with a Personal Branding & Social Media panel discussion moderated by Lianne Farbes. The panelists included, Claire Sulmers founder of FashionBombDaily.com, entertainment journalist JasFly, beauty pioneer Jennifer Walsh, Avon/mark Brand Manager Jessica Goon, celebrity manicurist TracyLee Percival and special guest Charlene Dance, Global Marketing Director of Strength of Nature. The lively discussion included topics such as privacy and transparency as a blogger, remaining true to oneself, creating and developing brand identity and more.
Here are some of the tweets from that discussion:

On sharing personal life on social media, @jasfly says the more you tell ppl, the more they feel entitled to. The whole truth! #CANDCNYC

The panel discussion was followed by a cocktail party where guests could network with each other and brands. Guests were treated to hand treatments by Restorsea, hair styling suite by Elasta QP, makeup application by Cocotique and CoverFX, tasting suite by Sweet Generation and specialty cocktails by SMOKE Liqueur. Music was provided by DJ Belle De Jour and raffle prizes by Hard Candy Cosmetics, Cocotique, Restorsea, Clarisonic, Elasta QP, Kao Pao Shu, Candy Flavas, HTC and a coveted gift bag filled with tons of goodies! The gift bag was so heavy. I needed a forklift to carry it home.
Do you like to go to networking events? Do you find them helpful?
