Yesterday, I had the pleasure of interviewing and moderating a twitter chat with Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas. She was such a delight to meet. She has been NYC promoting her new Lifetime movie “The Gabby Douglas Story” and doing correspondent work for the Super Bowl. Working in media, celebs come through the office all the time but I was really excited to meet Gabby. She is such an inspiration to young girls everywhere.
“The Gabby Douglas Story” kicks off Lifetime’s Black History Month and will recount Gabby’s rough journey toward the Olympic gold. The movie airs tonight at 8PM. Check out the trailer below:

I surely will be tuning into her movie tonight. I am SO excited to watch it. I love her and I think she is a HUGE inspiration to other young black gymnast hopefuls. I used to be a gymnast when I was younger and there are hardly NO women of color in that field, so it was amazing to see her dominate the Olympics. This is so awesome you got a chance to interview her, she seems like a really sweet girl.
She was a sweat pea. When I was younger, I looked up to Betty Okino and Dominique Dawes in gymnastics. They were my gymnast idols.
I have so much admiration for that young lady. Congrats to you. I will be checking for it on Lifetime.
very awesome!!! she seems super sweet!!
Great idea for Lifetime to tell her story! I remember seeing an interview or special about her mom’s sacrifices for her daughter to be able to train. Oh and by the way, cute outfit, looked really comfy too! I’m not familiar with C Wonder, going to check them out now.
Her mother came with her to the interview and was a sweetheart.
Awh that’s awesome! I won’t get to watch (no tv) but if they ever stream it online at all I’ll tune in, because I absolutely love her and the fact that she went against all odds and conquered her dreams!
I think Lifetime did a great job of capturing her story. My daughter and I had a blast watching it.
Loving all the blue! I’m having a navy moment myself. And that hair is fabulous! Thanks for linking up!
