It has been a whole year since I moved from NYC back to Michigan and I have no regrets. My decision to move back was a bittersweet one. I was tired of the everyday NYC grind. I had great jobs and made decent money but it ALL went to rent. No room to save and grow. It was like I was on a hamster wheel. I needed the change and space to clear my mind and focus on my futuristic vision. And that vision never included NYC in my plans. But next thing I knew, almost 14 years had gone by. Wow!
Admittedly, I had a much better social life in NYC, but I really haven’t had a chance to get acclimated yet. I’ve been traveling every month as part of my 2015 New Year resolution so I haven’t really had a chance to get out and socialize. My 2015 was so blessed. My initial plans were to travel the whole year. And for the first half of the year I did just that. I supplemented myself with my side hustle – which has grown into a lucrative business. I was financially sustaining myself so I didn’t feel the pressure to find a job right away. I’d go on interviews here and there. But none of them were a good fit.
Halfway through the year, I ended up finding a job that I couldn’t say no to. It was a great fit and it felt right. I found out about my current position via someone I met on social media. When I tell you there is power in social media, please believe it. Don’t sleep. Most of the great opportunities I’ve had in the past five years have been because of connections I‘ve made on social media.
This past year has been one of self reflection and planning. Every year I do a vision board. I’m a true believer in the Laws of Attraction. Most of the items I’ve put on my board have come to fruition. So get you a few magazines and make a vision board. You will thank me later.
I wish all of you the best this year. I will leave you with a few shots of my 2015 travels.

Vision boards are powerful, I also enjoy the simplicity of affirmations. Cheers to visions coming to life in 2016!
I’m a believer of what you put out in the universe you get back. Happy new year!
