Remember the show Fashion Star? It was a reality competition series on NBC featuring celebrity mentors Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and John Varvatos, and a few other folks. Each week designers were given the chance to win a multi-million dollar prize of launching their original collections in three of the nation’s largest fashion retailers. One season it was H&M the others were Macy’s, Express and other retailers. Each week, the contestants were given a challenge to design clothing with a certain look, feel and function. They got to work with with the mentors as they designed their creations, shopped for materials and oversaw the production of their garments. Then there was this huge fashion show at the end of each episode to show off their work to the buyers in hope their garments would be picked to sell in one of their stores. I loved it. I still haven’t gotten over NBC for taking it off the air. It was so good and innovative.
Well, I was addicted to that show. Every week I would buy something knowing that my big ol’ butt couldn’t fit into any of it. I had these high hopes that one day I would lose some weight and I would be able to fit into my purchases. Fast forward to three years later and I’m still fluffy. *sigh* So I’ve been holding on to all this merchandise that I have no hopes of wearing anytime soon. So I decided to put them up in my store. One of the dresses that I absolutely adored had a slew of deodorant stains on it from that one time a few years ago when I tried to squeeze my fluffy ass into it. It was so tight that I got deodorant everywhere. The dress is new with tags so I didn’t want to take it to the cleaners and risk removing the tags. Nor did I want to wash it. If you sell on eBay than you understand.
So I had to figure out a way to get out the deodorant of the dress so I could resell it. I ended up finding an easy solution. All you need is a used dryer sheet. Yep, a dryer sheet. But it must be used. Ball the dryer sheet up in a ball and start rubbing away the white deodorant marks. You will be using the dryer sheet like a cloth. Just keep wiping until the whiteness disappears.
