Happy Monday! I have been sitting here looking at a blank blog post thinking about what to write about today. I actually have a lot of content that I need to post. I have yet to fill you in on my trip to Iceland, Alaska and Montreal. Which is a total fail as a travel blogger. I’m looking into incorporating videos into my posts. Is it writer’s block or just plain old laziness?
Yesterday, I spent half of the day teaching myself Adobe Premiere. I thought being that I’m pretty proficient in Adobe Photoshop that it was going to be pretty simple. Wrong! My PC kept crashing when I tried to upload my video into Premiere. I finally gave up on that PC and used another one. It worked, but when I tried to get my videos off of Amazon Photo, I couldn’t download the desktop app. Another fail. I finally just hooked my iPhone up to my laptop and pulled my videos from there. I was able to get everything imported and by that time I was tired and out of creative juices. I finally just said deuces and asked around for someone to edit my videos. I like to do as much as I can, but I know when it’s time to enlist someone else’s services. I’m not about that do everything myself life. I have no problems in paying an expert. Fellow travel blogger, Roni of The Travel Guru, gave me a dope referral and I’m praying that I will be working with him soon. *fingers crossed*
I shot these pictures in downtown Auburn Hills. It’s so cool to be in Michigan again. I was gone for so long that everything is new again. I don’t recall Auburn Hills being so trendy. I’m having fun exploring. I wore a Forever 21 off white long line vest, Forever 21 distressed boyfriend jeans, Steve Madden Janna flats and Folie Follie Heart4Heart Handbag (similar).
Last week I read a couple of great stories online. Here are a few.
- Speaking of exploring…I’m looking forward to using these cool graffiti walls as future backdrops.
- Most people don’t know there is a simple trick to get a cheaper flight on an airline’s website. Try this simple travel trick to get cheaper fares.
Here’s what was popular on The Limerick Lane last week:
- Iyanla Vanzant and Wendy Williams empowered thousands of women in Detroit.
- It may not seem like it now, but winter is right around the corner. Here is what you are going to need to get your car ready for Jack Frost.

You look amazing! You’ve inspired me to start posting and shooting style pics again. Plus I’m totally stealing all of you poses!
Thank you, Latoya! Yes, you should start shooting and posting again. I’ve always admired your style.
I’ll also add this… I try not to put the judgement of “laziness” on myself. It doesn’t help me get off my butt any faster. I find that it is my job to keep myself inspired so when I feel that kind of block or frustration (especially after dealing with tech issues) I have to do something the only feeds my creative soul… not with the intention to create content…something purely for my amusement only. Even if it’s as simple as a walk or long drive.
