Last week was such a busy week for me. My mother and my nieces came to visit and we have been going non stop ever since they stepped off the plane. If you have been following my blog for a while then you know I call my nieces ‘munchkins‘. The munchkins have a lot of energy and I did my best to keep them busy while they were here in NYC. One of the highlights of their visit was going to the American Girl Place to celebrate my youngest niece’s birthday. She has been wanting an American Girl doll ever since her oldest sister got one last year for her birthday.
The girls really enjoyed themselves at American Girl Place in New York. My youngest niece was able to pick out her doll (in which we later exchanged for a straight haired doll) while my oldest niece got her doll’s hair done at the beauty salon. I was able to make an appointment online ahead of time which was very convenient. Unfortunately they don’t allow you to make any hair appointments ahead of time. You have to go the day of and wait in line. That was a total bummer.
The lunch prices weren’t’ too bad to eat the American Girl Cafe. It was $25 per person. I chose not to dine with my nieces because there wasn’t anything on the menu that I liked. No fault to American Girl, I’m just a picky eater. The girls had mini hotdogs and fruit and my mother had some sort of chicken wrap in which she complained that there was hardly any chicken in it.
The people that worked there were so nice and helpful. The girls took a liking to one of the staff members named BJ. They would sing in unison “Hi Beee Jaaayyy!” whenever they would see them. It was so cute.
After lunch, I decided to do an impromptu photo shoot with the little ladies in front of this cool water fountain at Rockefeller Center. My munchkins are my muses.
Have you ever been to American Girl Place? What are your thoughts on the dolls?
