Last month I had the pleasure of attending a special VIP Preview at the Red Rooster Harlem. The restaurant is owned and operated by celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson. Some of you may remember him from winning the last Top Chef Masters”. Samuelsson served us a sampling of his menu to a few hundred members of the African-American travel website Black Atlas. We were treated to appetizers of pickled beets served on cucumber slices and prosciutto wrapped around a filling of dates and cream cheese while we waited to be seated upstairs. Chrisette Michele entertained us as Samuelsson served up a four course meal for us.

Chrisette performed while we dined. You can tell from these pictures that she was singing her heart out!! The dress she was wearing was cute in theory, but it had too much boob action for dinner.

I was fortunate enough to get a picture with Marcus. He’s such a cutie!!

It was a great event and I was honored to be invited by Black Atlas. Oh…and the Yard Bird was delish!
