In case you didn’t notice from my pictures, I got my hair trimmed and straightened. It’s been long overdue. I know the experts say to get your hair trimmed every 3 to 4 months, but I prefer to go every 6 months. It’s just my thing. I think the length between trims vary from person to person.
I had my hair straightened before my trip to Austin for SXSW. Since I was only getting it flat ironed at the time, I went to my backup salon. But I noticed that my ends were in need of a trim. I didn’t want that particular stylist straightening my hair to trim it. I’m really funny about who I let cut my hair so I promptly booked an appointment with my regular hair stylist Dailey at Him + Her = H2 Salon in Brooklyn.

I rarely wear my hair straight. I typically get it done when I get my trims. But one thing I’ve noticed is the non-stop compliments I get when I wear my natural hair straight. I also get ‘chosen’ more by the fellas too. It sort of makes me question whether or not I’m attractive wearing my hair curly. But my doubts were put to rest when le boo turned to me the other day and asked when I was going to wear my hair curly again because he missed it and it gave me character. Awwww!
Do you feel more attractive with straight hair or when your hair is in its natural state?
Oh…and I may or may not have had help in the length department. Stay tuned for more details.

Your hair looks great! I can never get mine so straight, maybe I should treat myself to a salon visit.
But, I just felt weird the last time I straightened mine. I couldn’t work out how to style my hair, it felt odd (and made me too hot) to wear it down. Which immediately reminded me that I never styled my hair when it was straight.
Thank you! I don’t have any talent in the hair department either, hence why I go to a salon to have it done. My biggest challenge is what to do with it at night. Although I wore my hair in a straight press growing up, I can’t figure out how to wrap it up at night. I always wake up with bends and crimps in it.
