Last night I got to hang out with my Chi-Town buddy Lenora at the Visually Speaking: Photographing a Culture through the Pages of EBONY event at Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in Harlem. Photographers Tyrone Rasheed, Val Goodloe, and Fred Watkins discussed their roles and experiences as EBONY Magazine. It was so informative. I learned so much about African-American photographers and the roles they have played in documenting our events. I also learned how difficult it is for black photographers to shoot major events including our own. The event was great and I’m so glad I attended.
