Well, sort of. Last night I went out to a party. Guess what? I actually had a good time. Although, I’ve been back in Michigan for a full year, I’m still trying to get acclimated. I spent the majority of last year traveling, so this year I’ve been trying to get out and explore my own city. My friend and “Oh, But Wait!” cohost, Jessica, and I went to this rooftop party downtown on top of the Music Hall. It was cute spot with good music and a good vibe. You can catch my shenanigans on SnapChat.
When I got to the event the elevator was broken. I had to walk up seven flights of stairs. *insert angry emoji face* It was awful. But thankfully I had on flats. I’m all about NOT wearing heels if I don’t have to. Living in NYC for so many years, I’ve gotten accustomed to being comfortable. Let’s be honest, heels hurt. In a perfect world I would wear a 7 1/2 W. But since most brands only carry a medium width, I’m stuck with buying larger shoes to fit my wide fit. Therefore the shoes are too large and all I do is slide to the front in heels. It’s very uncomfortable and hurts. Sure, I could use the extra heel height but comfort trumps pain. Here’s a cute article that sums up my feelings on wearing heels and why they are bad for you.
Aside from that minor hiccup, we had a great time. It felt good to be out and about, since usually I’m at club Bed.

I’ve given up on wearing heels, to me its not worth the pain. I’ll rock a wedge every once in a while, tho. Last year coming out of an Atlanta MARTA station the escalator broke (it was over crowded during a huge convention) we had to walk up one of the longest escalators id ever seen. Thankfully I was wearing flats, if I had heels on it would have been a bad scene! #BLMgirl
If I had heels on, I would have asked for a refund. Of course you didn’t know the elevator was broken until after you paid. Shady Pines.
I’m all about not wearing heels….at all costs, LOL! I have little to no arch so when I do wear them, after the 2nd hour my feet are on fire. I still tough it out if I want to be cute tho, but thank God for flats!
Love your dress here. Very pretty and perfect for the season! Glad you had fun too. 😉
I only wear heels to events dinner or a date where I know I will be sitting longer than standing. I’m over them. I have fallen arches too so I feel your pain.
Heels are a necessity here in NYC, so I feel you on that!!! I am astonished by women running around Manhattan with stilettos on a daily basis! I love that Eloquii dress on you and you styled it perfectly!
Living in NYC is where I came to my senses and realized walking up an down subway stairs in high heels is not the business. Granted, I love the height heels give me, but I hate the pain. Thanks for the compliment. It’s the 1st item I bought from Eloquii.
What an amazing “peek” in to the window of your life. Thanks for sharing your story. I can’t wait to start blogging.
