I had a really great day yesterday.  I started the day by making my parents breakfast.  My mother is bed ridden at the moment and can’t do anything, not even lift her arms up. So it was up to me to make breakfast.  I made them omelets with mushrooms, onions, peppers, basil, cheese and sausage.

This was my 1st time making omelets, but I think they turned out pretty good.  My parents loved them.  And they would tell me if they didn’t like it.  They don’t sugar coat anything!

Later on that day I went to see my homeboy Lorenzo ‘Zo’ Ferguson at a listening party for his 3rd album titled, SunStorm.  He is like the Quincy Jones of our generation.  The boy is musically talented.  He is a bassist, guitarist, drummer, producer and plays keys. I love how his album cover is an ode to Detroit!

Check out his music video.  You can catch it on VH1 Soul too!

Me and Zo’ at his listening party!

Did I mention that the listening party was held at Burn Rubber?  It’s a cute men’s clothing & shoe store in Royal Oak, Michigan.  The store is owned by Rick Williams and Roland Coit. (Pictured below).  Apparently the store has a cult following.  I leave Detroit for 10 years and so much happens.  I love it!
