Pamper Jar

Here is the post I promised with the directions on how I made Marie’s Hair & Beauty Pamper Jar for her birthday. I got the idea from a blog I was browsing and thought it would be a perfect gift for someone. It is very easy.  And it’s also a great gift when you can’t spend a lot of money, but want to let a person know that you are thinking of them. I personally think the best gifts are the ones that are handmade. You know that someone took the time, thought and effort to make something really special.

I went to my favorite store, Target, and cruised the sample aisle and picked up a few small items that would fit into a jar. I wanted to do a Hair & Beauty Pamper Jar so I grabbed those type of items.  Another great idea is to save some of the free samples you receive from the offers I post on the Facebook page for a future pamper jar. (“Like” The Limerick Lane on Facebook for tons of free samples of products.)

This idea is very versatile. It doesn’t have to be just pamper products. You could create any “jar” filled with goodies.

Examples:

Energy Jar: Filled with protein bars, 5 Hour Energy, Coffee, etc.

Mani/Pedi Jar: Filled with nail files, nail polish, toe separators, nail polish remover, cuticle oil or any other nail related item.

I found this jar at Target. It was only $5, but I’m sure you could find a similar jar at a local dollar store. I wanted a wide mouth jar to easily fit my items, so this one was a perfect size.  Once you have all of the items pulled together that you want, stuff them in the jar. I did have to do some rearranging to get everything to fit and make it look pretty.  I wanted to be able to see the front of all the products through the glass.

Everything In A Jar No Words

The blogger who I got this idea from created the above labels for the jar.  Through some Photoshop editing, I changed the colors on the template. The original colors were not my speed. If you don’t care for the colors, you can do the same and add your own label. The image should be large enough where you can just click on it and print it out.

I cut out the labels and adhered them to the glass jar with a glue stick. Because I used a large jar, I had to print and cut out 2 copies of the label template.  I glued the two label strips together to create one long ribbon in order for it to fit around the jar. I wrapped the ribbon around the jar and glued it closed. I didn’t glue anything to the jar. The ribbon was wrapped tight enough so it didn’t slide down the jar.  I used my glue stick and attached the “Hair & Body Pamper Jar” label to the ribbon.

Since I had an extra label printed because I had to print two. I put a label on top of the lid. I did have to glue this one to the lid.

And here is the finished product. What do you think? I really enjoyed making this gift for Marie. It was so quick and easy, but thoughtful at the same time.  I would love to hear some of the jars you come up with and what you would put in them?
