My profile reads that I am a “Social Media Aficionado”, which means that I am lover social media.  It doesn’t mean that I’m an expert…yet. But that I do have a lot knowledge in it. I had to explain the definition to a friend when she commented about it being in my profile when I wasn’t familiar with a social media application she used. I had to break the definition down to her and explain that is why I specifically chose the word Aficionado because I’m not and expert and don’t know everything. But I’m learning more and more each day.

And I want to tell you what I learned today. HootSuite recently launched its App Directory, which allows all users to share content to Constant Contact, Flickr, Formulists, Get Satisfaction, Summify, Tumblr and YouTube. Users already had the ability to distribute content on Facebook (and FB Pages), Foursquare, LinkedIn, mixi, MySpace, Ping.fm, Twitter, and WordPress. Read more about the HootSuite App Directory on the HootSuite Blog.  For those unfamiliar with HootSuite, it is a social media dashboard that publishes to websites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Foursquare and now many more platforms.

I think this is a great. HootSuite for me is one of the few social media dashboards that have nailed it when it comes to updating my pages.  There are a few tweaks I would make because I primarily still use Tweetdeck to tweet because I like the way it looks.  I’m not a fan of the white back ground on HootSuite, but I love that you can schedule posts and update to my Facebook Fan page.

Are there any other social media dashboards that you use and find them productive?
