Ok. We are back to this regular scheduled program. But I just had to tell you about the Vintage Live Tour yesterday. Now let’s get back to my Italian adventure. It was the last morning in Florence and we didn’t have to check out of our AirBnB apartment until 10:30am. We were determined to see one more historical attraction sine we got such a late start the day before. We decided to go to Piazzale Michelangelo (Michelangelo Square) to see the magnificent panoramic view of Florence, Italy.

Because it’s ok to have a butt shot every now and then.

From here we were able to see the Piazza del Duomo buildings, Basilica di San Lorenzo, Ponte Vecchio and other buildings in Florence. Have you seen the postcards and paintings of Florence, Italy? This is the spot. You can take some lovely pictures from this location. It’s also nice place to see during sunset. Oh – and it’s FREE.

We also saw the large bronze replica statue of David by Michelangelo. This is one of two replicas, the other being in front of Palazzo Vecchio in Piazza della Signoria while the original is found at Accademia.

Although we didn’t get a chance to go, there are also two churches found nearby Piazzale Michelangelo. The nearest, Church of San Salvatore al Monte is just a few minutes walk. Further up the hillside is the decorative and attractive San Miniato al Monte church. If you are in the area and have time,  it’s a must see.

I’ve heard that the square can get crowded with tourists but we didn’t have any issues. It could have been because we were there super early in the morning. Sure, there were tourists but not an overwhelming number. We were still able to get panoramic photos without being photo bombed.

On the way back to our flat from Michelangelo Square we stumbled across a graffiti tunnel in Florence. It was so cool. I’m in love with graffiti art. As I mentioned before, my  friend who hates taking pictures gave me a one picture per day quota. I used my one free picture in the tunnel. LOL
