I spent last Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Brooklyn.  I know folks from BK are always complaining when they have to go to Harlem. But I’m the completely opposite when it comes to going to Brooklyn from Harlem.  It’s not a big deal.  I guess being originally from the Motor City has made me accustomed to traveling.  Nothing is just around the corner in Michigan like it is in NYC.  So I’m not spoiled.  You have to travel if you want to go out. I say all that to say that I had a ball in BK last weekend.

I spent Friday night hanging out at my friend’s fabulous apartment for her birthday celebration.

I made macaroni and cheese for the festivities.

I think my macaroni was a hit! I was a little nervous because I have never made it for the public before. Just myself. It’s my Mom’s famous recipe.  She said if I told anyone, I would have to kill them.

Saturday, two of my friends had a networking brunch for friends in TV and Entertainment.

My boy Nas hooked it up. He did all the cooking. Not sure why no young lady has scooped him up yet. A man that can cook gets brownie points.

He made everything from home fries to quiche to frittatas

Sunday I joined Carm for part three of her birthday weekend.  We dined at Nolita House for brunch.

Me and Carm. Please don not pay attention to the billboard behind up.  I had no clue that it was there. LOL. I got a lot of comments about my shirt on Instagram.  The shirt is from Look Supply.  Check them out and let me know what you think.  If you are into Boho and Hipster Chic fashions, this is the place for you.

We hung out at Habana Outpost in Brooklyn after brunch.

Last weekend was so much fun.  I’m so blessed to have made wonderful friends in NYC. I know many meet their lifelong friends in college, but I can say that I was able to meet mine later in my adult years.  I moved to this city 10 years ago not really knowing a soul. And now I have the most amazing friends.  They are truly awesome.
